Video feedback
Record a short video (up to two minutes) to show students exactly what you mean — demonstrating a technique, walking through a worked example or giving face-to-face encouragement.
Photo feedback
Snap up to three photos of a student's work and add a caption. Great for annotated worksheets, practical work, art projects or anything that's easier to show than describe.
Text feedback
Sometimes a quick written comment is all that's needed. Type it in and it's with the student straight away.
Automatic summaries
Voice and video feedback is transcribed and summarised automatically, so students can read a quick overview as well as listen back. Action points are pulled out of written comments and photo captions too.
Your sets
Your teaching sets are your home screen. Pick a set, pick a student, leave feedback — SimmaSend remembers the set you used last.
Set notes
Record a planning note about a whole set — voice, video, photo or text. Set notes are shared with the set's other teachers and never shown to students.
Grades
Add a grade to any piece of feedback, or keep a grade private so it's for your records only and never shown to the student.
Reports
Generate a report for a student or a whole set as a PDF or Word document, including each student's most frequent grade. SimmaSend can also draft a report comment from the feedback, to the character limit you set.
Replies
When students write back, their replies collect on one Replies page with an unread count, so nothing gets missed.
Share with colleagues
Join a teacher group set up by your school and choose to share your feedback with colleagues — useful for tutors, heads of year and co-teachers. Private feedback is never shared.
Assignments
Tag feedback to a named assignment as you record it, then see everything given on that piece of work together on your Assignments page.
Private feedback
Mark sensitive feedback as private so it's visible only to you and your school's admins — useful for pastoral notes or concerns you don't want to share with the student or with colleagues.

One QR code per student
Each student gets a single QR code that lasts the whole year. Any teacher at the school can scan it to record. Students scan it to see everything in one place. Print once, use all year.
Student dashboard
Students scan their QR code and instantly see all their feedback across every subject — organised by date, with colour-coded subjects. No app to install, no login, no account needed.
Student responses
Students can write back after reading their feedback, creating a two-way conversation. Teachers see replies on their Replies page and can mark them as read. Schools can switch replies off.
Email notifications
Optionally add students' school email addresses so they get a nudge when new feedback is ready. No more relying on students to remember to check.
No student accounts
Students never need to create an account, remember a password or install an app. They just scan their QR code. It works on any phone, tablet or computer with a camera.

Data retention controls
Choose how long feedback is kept — 6, 12, 18, 24 or 36 months. “Keep forever” is the default; once your school chooses a period, older feedback is cleaned up automatically so you're not storing data longer than you need to.

Passwordless sign-in
Teachers and admins sign in with a link or a 6-digit code sent to their school email — no passwords to remember or reset. Teachers stay signed in on their phone, and signing out takes effect straight away.
